Frequently Asked Questions

What's The Difference Between Real hCG & Homeopathic hCG?
Real hCG is pure human recombinant hCG and is only available with a doctor's prescription. You will also need to visit a clinic where blood work and other tests are done to see if you're a candidate for hCG therapy. Homeopathic hCG contains such a small trace amount of hCG it's virtually not there. Homeopathic hCG, which can and is sold all across the internet, has no effect.

Does "Sublingual" Mean "Homeopathic"?
All hCG you see for sale online is homeopathic hCG, an "over-the-counter" version which typically has no hCG in it. Often we've seen some website owners suggesting that ALL sublingual is homeopathic and that is false. You can get real human chorionic gonadotropin, hCG, delivered sublingual which means under the tongue or as an injectible. Sublingual DOES NOT MEAN homeopathic!

Can't You Buy hCG Without A Prescription?
No, you can't. What you find online is not real hCG, it's homeopathic hCG which contains none of the actual hormone in it. That's how they get away with selling it online with no prescription. It's also why it's so cheap, there's nothing to it. Remember, it's not hCG that causes weight loss, it's the very low cal diet. But, you should NEVER do the diet for more than a few days without doctor supervision. If you look, you will find clinics who offer real hCG and you will have to visit the clinic's in person to get a script for the hormone. You'll also notice, if they publish it, the cost of real hCG is much higher than you will find from "homeopathic" sources. Why spend $30 to $40 dollars on a bottle of flavored water?

Does hCG Really Work?
hCG has not been tested by the FDA for use in weight loss. It is highly doubtful that hCG works. Common sense tells us that any low calorie, especially a 500 calorie per day diet will force your body to lose weight. You can lose weight on a 500 calorie per day diet with no hCG but you cannot lose any weight by simply taking hCG. Funny how you have to use that one diet only for it to work, don't you think?

What is the VLCD?
VLCD stands for Very Low Calorie Diet. It is the basis of the hCG diet plan. The VLCD is extreemly restrictive and specific. Being only 500 calories per day it is also very hard to stay on, especially when you have to work or live around other people who eat normally. What Does hCG Stand For?
hCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin and is found in the urine of pregnant women. Often times to save money, some makers of hCG use equine hCG or hCG from horse urine. Another reason why you must have a doctor prescription to get Real hCG.

Can I Take hCG With A Different Diet Plan?
No, you cannot. Part of what supposedly makes hCG work is the specific VLCD. I believe that it is this diet that brings the weight loss and hCG has little or nothing to do with it. I've been asked the question before but truly, if you read the diet, found here, you will see that you cannot substitue anything.

How Much Is hCG?
You have to figure on the whole cost of the program but adding up the doctor's time, the hCG, supplies for the diet, and blood work, you are looking at $500 to $700 for a 20 day / 20lb cycle and $750 to $1300 for a 40 day / 40lb cycle. I know, it's expensive for the real thing. But buying homeopathic is worse because you're spending money on flavoring.
